Poems and Wording For Your Gift List
Words and Rhymes to ask your guests for Money or Vouchers
These poems are printed free of charge in any Brambles wedding invitations.
As you are aware, we have already
set up home together, and have many of the items
that would make traditional wedding gifts.
Therefore a gift of money towards our new life together
or vouchers from
Argos ~ Marks & Spencer ~ B&Q
would be greatly appreciated.
A wedding post box will be at the reception
on our special day for any messages, vouchers, money and cards.
We haven’t got a wedding list, the reason we’ll explain,
We have two of everything, our home is bursting with the strain!
So we shall need new furniture, for our new and bigger nest,
High Street shopping vouchers or a cheque would be the best.
So, if you’d like to contribute, to our soft and cosy rooms,
Our heartfelt thanks go out to you
with love
The Bride & Groom
For a couple of years we’ve lived in sin,
We have a toaster, a kettle and a stainless steel bin,
Saucepans and towels we have many,
Corkscrews and flannels we don’t need any,
We just want you with us on our special day,
But if you insist on a gift anyway,
We hope you don’t think we’re being funny!
But we’d really appreciate a gift of money,
We’ll put it all together and buy something that’s best,
As a reminder of our day and our wonderful guests.
You're invited to our wedding day when we both say "I do"
And the most important thing to us is sharing our day with you.
As we've been "I doing" (for at least a year or two)
There's no wedding gift list as the things we need are few.
But if you're thinking of a gift, some money would be great.
Or gift vouchers from high street stores we'd much appreciate.
But the choice is really up to you, and we'd really like to say,
That the very best gift is you, with us, on our special day.
We've got appliances galore,
it's not our first time as spouse;
What we'd really appreciate
 is cash toward a house.
As you know, we're getting wed.
We've got everything for our house - even the bed!
It doesn't matter, whether your gift is big or small.
Whatever you give, we'll appreciate it all.
To celebrate our wedding you may wish to buy us presents
However this is not required, all we want is your presence
If you insist, we must admit, some money would be great
To help us do some home improvements at a later date.
If you still feel the need, to get us a small token,
We would appreciate vouchers for any shop that's open
Regardless of which choice you make, all we would like to say,
is come along and have some fun, on this our special day.
So what do you get for the bride and groom
Whose house needs things in every room?
When shopping for a present please don’t be rash
As there is always the option to just give cash!
We hope you don’t find our request to be funny
But we really would appreciate a gift of money
And once we've replaced the old with the new,
We can look back and say it was thanks to you!
We are sending out this invitation,
And hope you will join our celebration.
If to send a gift is your intention,
In modesty we would like to mention,
We have already got a kettle and a toaster,
Crockery, dinner mats and coasters,
So rather than something we’ve already got,
We’d appreciate money for our saving pot.
But, most importantly, we request,
That you join us as our wedding guest.
More than just kisses so far we share,
Our home has been made with Love and Care,
Most things we need we've already got,
And in our home we can't fit a lot!
A Post Box we thought would be great,
(But only if you wish to participate),
A gift of vouchers, or even money,
Will be greatly appreciated (though a little funny)!
And once we've replaced the old with the new,
We can look back and say it was thanks to you!
We would prefer your wedding presence
rather than your wedding presents
but if you really do insist
then please visit M&S for our gift list
Love the joy of choosing gifts
and wrapping the chosen captive?
If thoughts elude in this regard...
money is attractive!
We haven't got a gift list, for all of you to see,
Because as you all know we never can agree!
But if you'd like to help us, start our married life,
cash or high street vouchers, would save a lot of strife
We have most of the things we need like a kettle and two toasters,
We have two different crockery sets with dinner plates and coasters,
Pots and pans, knives and forks a chopping board for cheese,
If you would like to give us a gift we would like the money please!
This invites you to witness (name and name) say ''I do''
If you wish to give something, here's a clue for you.
Be it kettle or toaster, they do have the lot
So rather than give them something they've got...
Larger items are needed and on these they must spend
So vouchers are appreciated, hope this doesn't offend
We've been together quite a while and have a lovely home,
There are not too many items that we don't already own.
So if your thoughts were on a gift, your presence will suffice,
But if you really feel the need then vouchers would be nice.
The choice is really up to you and we would like to say
We hope you come, enjoy yourselves and have a lovely day.
For every wedding, there is always THE list,
In one form or another, it always exists.
A list full of items to choose as a gift,
To buy for a wedding, through pages you'll sift.
Well this happy couple are different indeed,
There is no usual list, as they have all they need.
But a gift you could give them, that would mean so much,
Is money or vouchers, their hearts this would touch.
The purpose for money, is to make their house, a home,
With so many jobs, it would be hard on their own.
But it's your presence not your presents, that they hold most dear,
They look forward to seeing you and having you near.
Please find within this poem, information just for you,
With some rules and regulations, that we both insist you do.
Save the date of the 1st of May is the very first thing to say,
To share the love and happiness, on our Wedding Day.
The second one is vital, if you're going to be our guest,
To eat, drink and be merry or do your very best.
The third rule can be broken, we really do not mind,
But if you choose to follow it, thank you for being kind.
A gift is not requested, your presence will suffice,
But if you really feel the need then money would be nice.
The choice is really up to you and we would like to say,
We hope you come and enjoy yourselves on our very special day.
The love of family and friends
Bring happiness that never ends
Each one of you as guests we’ll treasure
You’ll fill our day with so much pleasure
While wedding presents are so nice
Your presence really will suffice
But if a gift is on your mind
Your contribution would be kind
We have a fund, please see below
Each welcome gift will help it grow
But the greatest gift is that you’ll say
You’d love to share our wedding day
As our special day draws near,
we hope our sentiment is clear
Our dearest wish is that you’re there,
and in our happiness you’ll share
Your presence is what matters most,
not gadgets for our tea and toast.
But if a gift is on your mind,
A small contribution would be kind
We have a fund, please see below
Each welcome gift will help it grow.
So ‘Thank you’ is all that’s left to say
We’ll see you on our wedding day
We lived together before this wedding
So we have a home full of toasters and bedding.
To save you looking, shopping and buying,
Here's an idea you might like trying!
Please put some money into a card,
Now make us a wish.... see, that wasn't hard!
Now we've saved you all the fuss,
We hope you'll come and celebrate with us!
A post box will be at the reception hall
To deposit your wishes... Thanks to you all.
The wedding has come, it’s here at last
"What present shall I get?" I hear you ask.
A set of glasses, towels or a toaster,
Vases, plates or even a coaster.
These things we already have in our nest,
So a gift of money, we'd like to suggest.
We know reading this some may be offended.
We hope you’re not as this wasn't intended.
So please don't think we are being funny,
If we just say "can we please have money"?
Poems and Wording for Money towards your Honeymoon
We know it's not traditional it's not the way it's done
But instead of a wedding list we'd like a bit of sun.

Please do not think of us as rude please do not take offence
We do not want to upset you, that's not the way it's meant.

We've lived together quite a while and all the bills are paid
We've got our plates, our pots and pans, our plans have all been made.

So if you'd like to give a gift to help us celebrate
Some money for a honeymoon we would appreciate
We are sending out this invitation
In hope you will join a celebration
But if a gift is your intention
May we take this opportunity to mention
We have already got a kettle and two toasters
crockery, dinner mats, and matching coasters
so rather than something we have already got
We would appreciate money for our honeymoon pot
But most importantly we request
That you come to our wedding as our guest
We haven't got a wedding list, the reason we'll explain
It's to save you all the hassle as shopping is a pain

We thought we'd ask you all for something else instead
A little contribution for a honeymoon in the Med

So if you'd like to contribute towards our honeymoon
We offer you our heartfelt thanks
With love, the Bride and Groom
We've lived together quite a while with all our pots and pans,
and as we don't need homely gifts we've got another plan!
We know it's not traditional but an awful lot more fun,
to have items on our wedding list to help us catch some sun!
So if you'd like to give a gift and send us on our way
a donation to our honeymoon would really make our day!!
Then while we're relaxing on the beach, or by the pool so blue
we'll sit back and know that it is truly thanks to you!
An ode to the gift list

In a wedding invitation, you usually find some lists,
For venues, menus and hotels, and also for the gifts

But this one is unusual, it comes in a different way,
As we're not asking for presents, but for something else today

Now please don't think we're selfish, or that this comes from greed,
But we've lived together for a while, so there's not that much we need

We would appreciate help though, to send us on our way,
And allow us to have our honeymoon, in a land quite far away

So now the point of all this rhyme, the thing that we would like,
Isn't towels, toasters or microwaves, but pounds and pence alike

And now you know the reason, behind this cheeky accord,
Please help to give us memories, of a dream honeymoon abroad
The date has been set and we'd love you to come,
To our wedding in (place name), a long way for some,
All you must do, is decide what to wear,
Then polish your jewellery and comb up your hair.

Don't worry about gifts, don't buy us a yacht,
The things that we need, we've already got.
Our home is quite compact, we may have to move
Then our storage and space will surely improve.

Don't go out shopping or get yourself stressed,
Don't alter your plans for a pre wedding rest.
If you want to be generous, despite what we've said,
Then save all the hassle and do this instead.....

Don't know how to word this but will give it a shot..
Contributions are most welcome, we'll go somewhere hot!
A honeymoon would be marvellous, to start off our life,
In our long winding journey, as new husband and wife!
