Poem
1
This day for us is special
A time beyond compare.
The joy we feel deep in our hearts
We’re glad our guests can share.
Your presence here with us
Means more than words can say.
Please keep this small memento
To remind you of our day.
|
Poem 2
We thank you each and every one
For joining us this day,
You’ve added to our happiness
In a very special way.
And as the years shall come and go
Our dreams will give us pleasure,
And bring you back to us again
In memories to treasure
|
|
Poem 3
Thank you for sharing our special day,
For your love and support along the way.
A new life together we now start,
And you have played a special part.
You helped to bring our dreams to life,
Watched as we became husband and wife.
So we give our thanks and wishes too,
And all our love, from us, to you.
|
Poem 4
This is a special day for us,
The realisation of so many hopes and dreams
made more special by
sharing it with family and friends.
We are grateful to you for being here,
You've added to our happiness
in a very special way.
We will treasure every moment of this day
and hope that you too leave
with happy memories.
With our love and thanks.

Poem 5
Today I married my best friend.
Our bond complete, it hath no end.
We share one soul,
We share one heart,
A perfect time ~ A perfect start.
With these rings we share together,
Love so close, to last forever.
This special day,
Two special hearts,
Let nothing keep this love apart.

Poem 6
May the sun
bring you new strength by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night,
May the rain wash away your fears,
And the breeze invigorate your being.
May you all the days of your life,
Walk gently through the world
and know its beauty.

Poem 7
A good marriage must be created,
In the marriage, the little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say 'I love you' at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is having a mutual sense of values
and common objectives.
It is standing together and facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love
that gathers in the whole family.
It is speaking words of appreciation
And demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere
in which each can grow.
It is a common search for the good and beautiful.
It is not only marrying the right person ~
It is being the right partner.

Poem 8
May the sun bring you new strength by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night,
May the rain wash away your fears,
And the breeze invigorate your being.
May you all the days of your life,
Walk gently through the world
and know its beauty.
Now we will feel no rain,
For each of us will be shelter to the other.
Now we will feel no cold,
For each of us will be warmth to the other.
Now there will be no loneliness,
For each of us
will be a companion to the other.
Now we are two persons,
But there is only one life before us.

Poem 9
Where there is love the heart is light,
Where there is love the day is bright.
Where there is love there is a song
To help when things are going wrong.
Where there is love there is a smile
To make all things seem more worthwhile,
Where there is love there's quiet peace,
A tranquil place where turmoil's cease.
Love changes darkness into light
And makes the heart take wingless flight.

Poem 10
A friend is a precious possession
whose value increases with the years.
Someone who doesn't forsake us
When a difficult moment appears.
Someone who lights up the darkness,
With a smile that's as warm as the sun.
Who rejoices with us when we're happy,
Who praises the good that we've done.
And our road will be smooth an untroubled,
No matter what cares life may send.
If we travel this pathway together,
And walk side by side with a friend.

Poem 11
If you treat each other kindly,
With compassion and with trust
And always let your tender feelings show,
If you laugh together often
and enjoy the times you share,
But give each other space to learn and grow.
If you understand your differences,
Respecting who you are,
And put each other first in all you do.
Then your marriage will be wonderful,
A reason to feel proud,
And a special source of love your whole lives through.

Poem 12
LOVE cannot be measured, not counted and stored.
It cannot be saved in some miserly hoard.
LOVE grows and increases when given away.
It blossoms with kindness and blooms every day
It knows no divisions, no borders nor creeds.
And thrives among thoughtfulness, sowing fresh seeds.
Unseeking, unselfish, and eager to share.
LOVE triumphs in trouble and shines through despair.
The bounty of heaven is faith hope and truth.
The wisdom of age and the courage of youth.
So many great blessings received from above.
Most precious of all is the great gift of LOVE.

- Poem 13
- I know every bump, every bulge, every wrinkle.
Every sag, every bag, every scar, every flaw, every whisker.
I know that you fleck the bathroom tiles with soap,
That you flood the bathroom floor with bath water,
That you never take your plate out to the sink,
That you scatter your clothes,
That you forget to change your socks,
That you tell me the endings of detective stories,
That you track mud through the house,
That you never remember to pay the bills.
I know your eccentricities, your prejudices, your moods.
And somehow,
- for some reason I can never fully understand,
I am crazy with love for you.

- Poem 14
- Yes I'll marry you my dear and here's the reason why.
So I can push you out of bed when the baby starts to cry.
And if we hear a knocking and it's creepy and it's late,
I hand you the torch, you see, and you investigate.
Yes I'll marry you my dear, you may not comprehend it,
But when the tumble dryer goes, it's you that has to mend it.
You have to face the neighbour should our Labrador attack him,
And if a drunkard fondles me, it's you that has to whack him!
Yes I'll marry you my dear, you're virile and you're clean.
My house is like a pigsty, you can help to keep it clean.
That sexy little dinner which you served by candlelight,
As I only do chipolatas, you can cook it every night.
It's you that has to work the drill and put up curtain track
And when I've got the PMT, it's you who gets the flak.
I do see great advantages, but none of them for you,
And so before you see the light .....
I do, I do, I do !!
